Post favourites shady bard have long been making waves thanks to their gentle folk-inspired pop, and a first full UK tour ensured that the ripples spread even further. Latest single Penguins is their most fully-formed song to date, and is irrevocable proof that their song-writing and musicianship is maturing at an astonishing rate.
A chiming guitar melody interlocks with violin, cello and downbeat vocals, before erupting into a blissful cacophony. Despite the low-key subject matter, at its core is a beating heart; sounding so human, it’s a fragile yet uplifting vignette which will see this five-piece soar into the stratosphere.
