operation: forestation

Static Caravan heard our songs and released a very limited edition, six song collection entitled Treeology ep in February 2006. The title track tells the story of a misguided tree surgeon who tries to save a forest by creosoting every tree precipitating an ecological catastrophe.

Members of the band spent weeks perfecting the art of cutting and folding tracing paper and parcel wrap, and foraged on the interweb for vintage nature-themed stamps. The result was a lovingly crafted, hand-packaged ep which sold out as soon as it went on sale. In support of the release, we took to the road, stopping at Manchester, London and Bristol amongst others. In the midst of all this we also began work on the video for Treeology with animator Broken Pixel, based around the concept of a lost children’s art and crafts programme.

For those who missed out on the ep, a range of Treeology-related merchandise is currently available from the shop including a three track CDR demo, featuring early recordings of Treeology, Bobby and Torch Song.
